Mr. Michael Haller and Mr. Ira Sterne-----Social Studies-----1920's Advertisements

1920’s Advertising in the United States

Duke University History Matters Advertising in the 1920s

Student Resource Center

Directions:

You will create an advertisement with pictures and text promoting a refrigerator, radio, or labor-saving device that was in the 1920s (refer to your notes or the text-book for other examples).

You will have to research one of the these developments and think about the potential market for the product (who your audience is? How to get them to buy your product, etc.), and write accompanying text that rings true for both product and advertisement.

Research the time period, illustrations & design styles as you create the pictures/advertisement. You may use images from the Internet, but you MUST use creativity and catch the attention of the consumer!

This assignment will be counted as a quiz grade. The assignment is due Wednesday, April 15th, students who do not hand them in on time will result in a grade reduction.
